This is the last Sunday we will spend together on the book of Jonah. The conclusion of this book is a very significant one. Let’s recap the main parts of the book. Jonah received a call from God to go to Nineveh, to bring the message from God to repent and turn from their ways. Jonah wanted the message to be one of judgement, however, he knew that God could display mercy, but Jonah did not want God to act in this way. Which tells you something about Jonah’s heart. Then last week we saw what happened when Jonah went to Nineveh. They did repent and turn to God, they did find that God is merciful, and he did spare them from judgement. Which brings us to the final chapter because we have not seen how Jonah reacts to that.
