The act or process of ministering is an important part of any church, we are blessed with many gifted leaders that are sometimes burdened with so much but still manage to keep RBC running smoothly with a smile.

Senior Pastor Matthew Needham

I’m so thankful that I gave my life to Jesus from a young age. I knew that I was a sinner and that there was darkness in my heart, but when I prayed to the Lord I felt clean. With childlike faith Jesus became my best friend.
A great turning point for me was when I was sixteen years old, when I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. I experienced God’s power and presence, and was filled with joy to know the Lord and share my faith with others. For the next six years I did street evangelism up and down New Zealand. I then moved into overseas missions, doing gospel crusades and helping to strengthen the churches.
God gave me the desire to preach the gospel in both Africa and Asia, while frequently doing missions trips to the islands of Fiji. Fiji was where I met my wife and we had our first child, named Genesis Amara, which means the beginning of eternal love.
It is a great blessing that in August of 2017 God opened the door for us to move into pastoring at Ranui Baptist Church. We love it here and enjoy seeing God do great things in people’s lives. Our aim is to love Jesus and make His love known to others.

Associate Pastor Tai Taua

Tai is happily married to his lovely wife of 12 years, Sharleen. They have 5 school aged children at home. Their hearts desire is to see their own children grow and walk in the ways of the Lord, and be examples to others. Tai and Sharleen are part of the praise and worship ministry at Ranui Baptist Church. Both are involved in Pastoral Care and are passionate and gifted in different areas of ministry, i.e. healing, deliverance, discernment, evangelism etc. They are so happy and blessed to be serving at Ranui Baptist Church among a wonderful, active and loving church family reaching out and helping the community, giving glory to our Father in heaven in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Youth Pastor Dwayne Tongamohenoa

It is an unspeakable joy to serve God in His Church in any capacity. It is a great privilege and wonderful call to be the Youth Pastor at Ranui Baptist Church. I have had this office since January 2016.
I am married to my dear Je’von and God has gifted us with Lemuel, our son.
I have been involved in Youth ministry since 2010 as a Youth Leader. Teenage years are very crucial to development in the faith as it interacts with culture so I have found myself gravitated towards helping young people stand firm in Jesus in times like these.
I love and believe in the local Church. God has given me a desire to see people become lifelong, genuine, wholehearted followers of the Lord with a passion for and submission to the scriptures through the power of His Spirit. Praise the Lord!

Elder: Graham Davis

Graham is married to Karen. He is the Community Support Worker for Ranui Baptist Community Care. He took on this role after many years of success in business. The elders of Ranui Baptist Church and the Trustees of Ranui Baptist Community Care, recognised Graham’s gifting and his relationship with West Auckland Community Leaders and asked him to undertake Chaplaincy Training and to operate as a Community Chaplain in Ranui. Graham has now become a key person in establishing and operating our social services and community services through Ranui Baptist Community Care. His years in business have equipped him with the necessary skills to network with stakeholders at all levels in the West Auckland Social Services community. Further to this, Graham’s chaplaincy training has formalised his gifting in relating to the needy people who come for help every day.

Elder: Carol Dawson

I am married to Ian, we have 2 married children and 5 grandchildren who all have a big input into my adventure in life. I see my spiritual gifting as being of the prophetic & discernment with my strengths being able to relate to people of all age groups and to have a listening ear to understand where they are at in life and able to help with ideas plus give encouragement. I find our church a place where people do matter and can feel welcomed and loved.

Elder: Rob Kidd

I am happily married to Barbara. We have two adult children, one a teacher and the other working in the building industry. I have been part of the Ranui family since I was a child and my wife Barbara since we were married in 1990.
I believe God is incredibly well organized and loves us all so much. We see testimony of this through his structured approach to creation and then sending Jesus to save us. I see my spiritual gifting as leadership, helping with the organization and administrative aspects of the church’s and the community trust’s activities. People matter and both Ranui Baptist Church and the Ranui Baptist Community Care Trust is all about helping people – whether it be budgeting, food parcels, emergency housing, counseling, spiritual development and so on.
It’s a great privilege to be involved in God’s work at Ranui.

Loves to organise outdoor expeditions with family and seeing people grow. R.B.C. Trust member.

Elder: John Blight

I am married to Marian. We have two children and four grandchildren whom we adore.
My journey has brought me from the Waikato where I was the last of four to leave my parent’s home. After moving through several churches we have settled in Ranui where we feel very much part of this church family. Life has had its ups and downs but in all those situations God has been there for us.
My strengths are; having an ear to hear God’s voice and prayer is a priority in my life.
My desire is that, together as a church, we are always open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Worship is crucial to us, acknowledging God as the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Let us work together to build his church in Ranui.
